You have got to hand it to Dr. Dasgupta - her passion for the subject is overwhelminlgy evident in her presentation. Today, she discussed the WTO in totality, its formation, the membership, the principles behind its formation and other intricate details of the subject. She delivered with clarity - to be quite honest, sometimes Economics can be such a waffle, you think that it is all common sense - well the way it is being delivered here - Economics has meaning - it has purpose, it is fundamentally the basis of an Economy, a Government and a Country.
We then discussed some Political Science and the various roles of Government and its associated problems. A key point driven is that as a Leader, you need to trust and respect the process that you have created and be seen to be trusting it so that the rest of the country can follow suit. It is important that you create a circle of excellence wherever you are - however, equally important is to note that there is a price to pay for whatever values and standards that you wish to stand up for. We discussed the nature of Welfare States and Feudalism and their implications.
We then delved into presentation skills. Though the presentation seemed so simple yet these are the very things we tend to neglect when undertaking presentations. It was indeed a refreshing reminder. Dr. Duggal discussed so simply the critcial aspects of presentation skills, citing various personal examples to support the points made. Sometimes it becomes very easy for us ignore these simple things, yet, they are the things that decide or we can say, 'make or break' our careers.
We then divided into our various groups to discuss the Recovery from the Global Crisis - we are reminded by the words of Dr. Singlair ...'If you hear the word recovery - analyse it carefully and take it with a bucket of salt...' This will be in the back of our minds as we discuss and analyse the recovery made in the various continents worldwide.
Blessed Day Folks - I will post photos as I receive them...
