The well-expressed Dr. Pandey elaborated on Strategic HRM. He first cautioned us, that he will not give us answers, instead, he will only provide parallels so that we can make our own conclusions. His depth of experience and knowledge was evident in the delivery of his lecture. We look forward to more in the coming days. The key issues that he taught us include:
- Organisation culture or your intangibles - will be the key element that differentiates you from your competitors
- Too often HRM is forgotten - and emphasis is given to the operations of the organisation
- HRM must be held in high regard
Dr. Pandey advised of the following key steps to follow:
- Recognise that people are your capital
- ROI - Return on Individuals
- Have in place right processes for your people
- Have in place right measures for your people
- Have in place right incentives for your people
We look forward to more.
Professor Shah then deliberated on key principles relating to Project Management. In concluding a project, it is important to note the following:
- ACWP - Actual cost of work performed
- BCWP - Budget Cost of work performed
- BCWS - Budget cost of work scheduled
It was an enlightening lecture.
Then, our dear Directors wanted to test whether we have indeed been listening in class. From the discussions yesterday, they should definitely be rest assured that - YES Indeed, we have been listening, we are learning and most definitely, we are enjoying the programme so far.....despite the fact that sometimes, it may seem that we want to take over the lectures...lols....we thank our learned lecturers for their understanding.
Blessed Day ALL
